The Focus 4D / 4D Protection security strategy was developed with two objectives in mind:

The 4D’s are Deter, Detect, Delay, Detain™


Optimize the elements of risk and minimize the opportunity to quantify or otherwise assess potential rewards. Thieves are lazy and that in part, is why they are thieves and therefore will not expend any energy in an environment which is perceived as high risk for low reward.


Create an environment where activity deemed contrary to the best interests of the organization, is detected at the earliest opportunity. Proactive or early detection of a threat or suspicious activity will minimize risk.


Establish effective layers of protection in respect of physical and electronic barriers as well as maintenance of intelligent policy, procedures and audit controls. Take away the element of surprise and the majority of criminal activity will be thwarted.


Competent training and education combined with systems maintenance and routine policy and procedural audits will ensure that optimum evidence is available to identify and punish those responsible for any infringement of personal rights, assets, brand, intellectual properties or reputation.
